Real Love is when those around you Love you through your mistakes, choices and accept you for you. People ‘see you,’ rather than ‘through you.’ This Love is genuine and unconditional. This Love helps someone to reach their fullest potential. This Love is comforting and non-judgemental. This Love helps you to Love yourself and see that you are a living and breathing Divine being.
Superficial Love is when those around you, including yourself, Love you for what you physically or materially have or give. People and yourself love you for the things you buy, rather than love you for the generosity. You and other people will always seek more of what you have, rather than appreciate the things you have been given or received. This Love pushes you and the people around you to view Love as something outside of you, rather than a Love that is living and breathing within you. This Love secretly despises you and will judge you for your mistakes and choices. This Love inflicts its will upon what and who you should be, hindering your truth and soul purpose for this incarnation.
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking. It is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes and always preserves. Love never Fails!” 1 Corinthians 13:4-7.
Love is not only an action, but a feeling, emotion and chemical reaction, it is a choice. It is a mental commitment to be loyal to those around you and to those who have touched your heart. Real Love is the ‘Love’ for the sake of Loving through the heart of Christ. In the Vow of Love, Love prevails. If it is not Love, it falls away.
