Essential Oils from the Bible

essential-oils 1Daily applications of essential oils in Biblical times was common and was used as medicine for illness, to balance emotions, and as nutritional supplement.  They were even used to case out ‘unclean’ spirits.

Our Creator has provided these plants and oils for us to heal our bodies, minds and Spirits, through the smallest molecular components of Mother Earth.  Essential oils and aromas are the original source of healing used in combination with Therapeutic Massage, Reflexology, and ‘Hands On’ Healing or ‘the laying on of hands.’

How do essential oils work?

Essential oils immediately penetrate the skin and cellular membranes. They diffuse throughout the blood and tissues instantly in a matter of seconds! Oils cross the brain-blood barrier and reach the amygdala and the limbic system which is the integrative center for emotions, emotional behavior, and motivation, in the brain.

List of Biblical Essential Oils:

Cinnamon Bark – The warm, spicy aroma of cinnamon has been sought throughout the ages both as a valuable commodity and for its ability to improve wellness. Cinnamon is thought to promote healthy cardiovascular and immune function, and acts as an antiseptic. You can also use it to enhance your cooking, or dilute and massage into chakras to create a soothing, relaxing sensation.

Frankincense – Has a sweet, warm, balsamic aroma that is stimulating and elevating to the mind. Useful for visualizing, improving one’s Spiritual connection, and centering, it has comforting properties that help focus the mind and overcome stress and despair. Frankincense is considered the holy anointing oil in the Middle East, where it has been used in religious ceremonies for thousands of years. More recently, it has been used in European and American hospitals and is the subject of substantial research. Frankincense is also a valuable ingredient in skin care products for aging and dry skin. The ancient Egyptians used it in rejuvenation face masks.

Juniper – Has a clean, mildly penetrating, woody scent that has a cleansing effect on the mind, Spirit, and body. It may work as a detoxifier and cleanser, is beneficial to the skin.

Pine – Has a refreshing, invigorating aroma. First investigated by Hippocrates, the father of Western medicine, pine is soothing for stressed muscles and joints when used in massage. It shares many of the same properties as Eucalyptus, and the action of both oils is enhanced when they are blended.

Cypress – Has a woody smell and has been known in supporting the body’s natural response to irritation and injury as well as aiding normal breathing. This oil also has historical use as an additive in perfumes and as an adhesive.

Galbanum – Has an earthy aroma. It was used in ancient temple ritual incense anointing associated with springtime. Galbanum supports the immune, digestive, respiratory, circulatory, and other body systems.

Myrrh – Has a rich, smoky, balsamic aroma that is purifying, restorative, revitalizing, and uplifting. It is a helpful aid to meditation, having one of the highest levels of sesquiterpenes available. Sesquiterpenes are a class of compounds that have a direct effect on the hypothalamus, pituitary, and amygdala, the seat of our emotions. Myrrh is referenced throughout the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. The Arabian people believed it helped wrinkled, chapped, and cracked skin. Today, myrrh is widely used in oral hygiene products.

Spikenard – Was highly regarded in India as a perfume, health-supporting herb, and skin tonic. Prized at the time of Christ, it was used by Mary of Bethany to anoint the feet of Yeshua before the Last Supper. This is a relaxing and soothing oil for the skin.

Cedarwood – Has a warm, balsamic, woody aroma. It is relaxing and soothing when used for massage, and has long been used as a beneficial ingredient in cosmetic preparations for oily skin.

Sandlewood – Has a rich, sweet, warm, and woody aroma that is sensual and romantic. Used traditionally as incense in religious ceremonies and for meditation, it is uplifting and relaxing. It is valued in skin care for its moisturizing and normalizing properties.

Fir – Traditionally used for muscular aches and pains, the warm aroma of balsam fir soothes and rejuvenates body and mind. It is known for supporting respiratory function and also believed to create an uplifting sense of well-being.

Hyssop – A biblical oil that was also sacred to ancient Greeks, has a fresh, woody scent that is slightly sweet. Hyssop is noted for its purifying properties.

Myrtle – Has a clear, fresh, herbaceous scent, similar to eucalyptus. Supportive of the respiratory system, skin, and hair, it has been researched for its effects on glandular imbalances* and its soothing effects when inhaled. It is also helpful for meditation and lifting the Spirit.

Essential Oils are making a remarkable and necessary reemergence. Essential Oils were a commodity during biblical times, and are a commodity and need for Humanity now! They will be ‘essential’ in the future of health and overall well-being of generations to come.  Christ Yeshua, Mary Magdalene, and many other disciples wrote about and used essential oils in their daily routine. Now allow yourself to heal with the nectar of Nature.

If you would like to buy some essential oils.

May you be blessed with happiness, health, wealth, joy, bliss, and longevity!

Chakra Balancing Meditation

Chakra Balancing Meditation with 2012 Ascension Harmonics by Jonathan Goldman.

See Calendar at The Soul Intention to see all events!

Kundalini Spinal Breathing:  Spinal Breathing has three parts, inhale, hold, exhale.  As you inhale, relax your whole body.  As you hold your breath, perform the root lock and hold for a few moments, then exhale, continuing the root lock.  As you inhale, you release the root lock and continue the three part steps.

The root lock is performed by contracting the perineum muscles that are in the flat space between the genital area and the anus. By contracting this muscle group, the normally downward flowing energy is pulled upwards, gradually uniting with the normally upward flowing energy at the navel center.

Before beginning any meditation, one must connect with their Higher Self in Christ Consciousness. One could say out loud or silent — “I AM One with the Universe and all that is surrounded by Light & Love, I now connect with my Higher Self in Christ Consciousness. Light is the essence of our being, Love is the heart of our Soul.”

The Chakra Balancing Meditation is a physical, spiritual, visual way to help heal the 7 major chakras and to help strengthen the aura.  Each chakra has a color, mantra, shape, and harmonic note (for the more advanced Meditation student).

When your light is shining bright, nothing less than Christ may enter your sacred space, or Temple.  ~Namaste~

Reiki for Pets, Animals, and Horses

Schedule a Session Now!

Reiki is a ‘hands-on’ healing method that originated in Japan by Dr. Usui. The practitioner channels healing ‘Light’ energy through his/her hands to the animal through a light touch either directly on the body or from a distance. The word Reiki (pronounced “Ray-Key”) is a Japanese word, translated as “universal life energy.”  It is based on the idea that all living beings have life energy flowing through them. When life energy is vibrating at a high frequency, your pets are healthy and balanced, more relaxed and less likely to get sick. When the vibration is low, they’ll often be more easily affected by stress and less resistant to illness. Reiki is a safe complement to conventional Western medicine, Chinese medicine, herbal medicine, homeopathy and all other forms of healing.

Animals, especially cats, dogs and horses, are naturally receptive to the Reiki energy and tend to gravitate towards it readily. Some pets may initially prefer to experience the energy from a slight distance, rather than having the practitioner’s hands directly on them. Each animal and their personality is different.

Reiki sessions for pets typically last 15-30 minutes.  The frequency of sessions depends entirely on each individual animal’s health status and needs. Some health issues can be resolved in two or three sessions, others may take ongoing sessions on a recurring basis.  Frequency of sessions will be tailored to your pet’s individual needs.

Benefits of Reiki for pets, animals, and Horses:

Enhances overall well-being.

Just like people, even healthy pets can have occasional physical, emotional and mental imbalances that, if left untreated, can manifest as illness. Periodic Reiki treatments can help maintain your pet’s natural state of well-being and balance.

Strengthens the immune system for cancer therapies.

Cancer therapies such as chemotherapy and radiation present stress to an already compromised immune system. Reiki strengthens the immune system to better deal with this additional stress. It helps alleviate or prevent the side effects of conventional cancer treatments and provides pain relief.

Accelerates healing following surgery or illness.

Reiki can alleviate and prevent side effects of conventional medications such as pain killers and antibiotics, and provides pain relief and relaxation to facilitate and enhance the body’s natural healing response.

Increases trust and bonding between you and your pet.

People and pets often mirror each others’ physical and emotional states. Animals are natural healers and sometimes take on their person’s problems, often in an attempt to heal them. This happens because of the deep bond shared between a pet and his or her person. Because of the shared energy in such a close relationship, energetic imbalances are shared as well. For optimum healing, joint treatments for people and their pets can often be beneficial.

Can help with behavior issues by promoting relaxation and stress reduction.

Many behavior issues are caused by stress. Reiki has a calming effect on the pet and may help make the pet more receptive to training and behavior modification. Reiki is extremely beneficial for animals with a history of abuse. The gentle touch and the energy can help restore trust in animals who have learned to associate touch with being hurt.

Provides comfort and relieves pain, anxiety and fear for terminally ill animals.

Reiki is a wonderful way to facilitate the transition for terminally ill animals and their owners. Often, animals will not allow themselves to transition because they intuitively feel that their person is not ready to let them go. Joint Reiki treatments for the pet and his or her person can help both through this difficult time by enhancing the bond and allowing a gentle transition.

*(Mint) Peppermint/Spearmint Tea with Honey*

Mint honey

Properties of Mint & Spearmint Tea

Because of active compounds contained, peppermint & spearmint have sedative, disinfectant and cicatrizing properties.  They can be successfully used in gastro-intestinal disorders, helps the liver and calms indigestion.  Mint and spearmint contains menthol, menthone, menthofuran, a-pinene, limonene, cardinene, acetic aldehide, isovaleriana, vitamin C and antibiotic substances that have been used for centuries as a natural remedy to ease or “possibly” cure disease, cancer and infection throughout the body.

Herbal tea is one of the most popular herbal infusions that people drink either hot or cold, which is both very refreshing and has a calming effect.  It has been known to help in curing many ailments within the body and also has been known to prevent them from recurring.

The following are some benefits of tea freshly brewed from fresh peppermint and spearmint leaves with honey.
Mint & Spearmint known Health Benefits

Reduces Stress: One of the primary benefits of Mint tea is that it acts as a stress reducer.  Sipping herbal mint & spearmint tea, just before going to bed, induces sleep, thus helping the person to relax the body, mind & spirit.  Peppermint mint also minimizes the symptoms like migraines, headaches and upset stomach induced by anxiety, tension and stress.
Maintains Oral Health: Mint, being an essential ingredient in most dental care products such as toothpaste and mouthwash, helps in in the prevention of gum disease.  Drinking peppermint & spearmint tea will combat bad breath and helps in maintaining the oral health of a person.
Strengthens the Immune System: Mint tea acts as an immune system booster, since it is rich in nutrients like phosphorus, vitamin B, vitamin C and calcium, which helps the internal body system in strengthening the immune system, minimizing the occurrence of disease and infection throughout the body.
Reduces Unwanted Hair Growth: Drinking spearmint tea reduces hirsutism, a condition where a woman has unwanted growth of hair on her face, breasts, legs and other parts of the body, due to high secretion of the male hormone, androgen.  According to some researchers, regular intake of mint tea will reduce this uncontrollable hair growth in women.
Cures Nausea: One of the most common benefits of drinking mint tea, is that it helps in curing nausea, in such cases as after eating or due to other reasons such as traveling, pregnancy, hangover, or illness.
Analgesic: Drinking mint & spearmint tea is beneficial in curing menstrual cramps and other muscular spasms. It also helps in easing intestinal pains, especially in small children and the elderly.

Health Benefits of Honey:

Honey has been used for centuries as an ayurvedic remedy for many ailments of the body.  It is not just a natural sweetner, but has medicinal properties that have been known to treat, if not cure many diseases, infections and in some cases, cancer in Ancient times.  Honey is made completely by bees and has been used for many aeons to treat the body and enhance the taste of food and beverage.

Note: It is beneficial to find a tea that includes both Peppermint and Spearmint and is decaffinated, but necessary.  You may find organic tea at any whole foods store, or even at your local supermarket.   Honey can be found at your local supermarket or farmers market.
